Local 8 was chartered on August 30, 1902 by the International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC).
Our jurisdiction was determined to be the entire state of California north of the Tehachapi line and the
area lying west of the 118 Meridian, West longitude within the state of Nevada.

Brothers Frank Hambridge and Wingore were elected to present the application for the Local's 
charter to the IUEC.
