Local 8 has long been committed to organizing the unrepresented Elevator Constructor.  In 2006, we took a proactive step toward organizing by approving a full-time officer dedicated solely to Organizing.  Brother Larry Barulich was the first full-time Organizer in Local 8 and laid the foundation for what has become a successful position within our Local.  We continue to organize many unrepresented Elevator Constructors and have facilitated contractors to become signatories with the IUEC.
